    The Maccabees were an English indie rock band, formed in in London. They released four albums: Colour It In in , followed by Wall of Arms in , Given to the Wild which was released on 9 January and their last album Marks to Prove It released on 31 July The band announced that they decided to disband in August , with farewell gigs in

    The Maccabees have always been the poster-boys for bland, forgettable indie rock, and that image isn't shattered by the band's second album 'Given To The Wild'. The songs are anything but memorable, with the exception of "Pelican", the album is thoroughly unexciting.

    Given To The Wild is something new, not only is their sound more complete but the album is much more solid than its predecessors. As soon as I heard Pelican I loved it, I thought exactly the same when I heard Love Me Better.5/5(12).
